Talven ihmemaassa / Walking in the winter wonderland

Vielä vaan pakkanen jatkuu, vaikka tuntuu siltä, että säätiedotuksissa on vähän väliä uhkailtu loskan ja rännän saapumisella. Tässä pari otosta iltakävelyltä iltana, jolloin katuvalot olivat rikki ja lunta satoi vaakasuoraan. Myötätuuleen ei lumihiutaleita kuitenkaan edes tuntenut, mutta salamavalo paljasti niiden olemassaolon. Takaisin tullessa kyllä lumi pistelikin sitten naamaa.

The weather is still cold, although it seems like every other weather forecast is treatening us with the onslaught or sleet and slush. Here are a couple of shots from my evening walk on one evening when the streetlamps weren't working and it was snowing heavily. At first, I could barely notice the snowflakes, although the flash revealed their presence. On the way back, we were walking against the wind and the snowflakes were stinging my face very noticeably.



Valoisampia kuvia tuli napattua ihan kodin kulmilta kun olin asioilla hiukan sumuisena päivänä.

I got some brighter photos when running errands near my home on a slightly foggy day.



Nyt ei yhtään näytä siltä, että väsyisin lumimaisemien kuvaamiseen. Joskus tulevina räntätalvina epäilemättä katselen näitä kuvia, että silloin muinoin oli talvetkin oikeita...

It doesn't seem like I'd ever get tired of taking photos of snowy scenery. During future (snowless) winters I'll be looking at these photos and reminiscing how winters used to be real and white...
